Se han cumplido ya tres décadas desde que Ismael Arroyo decidiera, con el apoyo de sus hijos, Miguel Ángel y Ramón, y más tarde Marisa, poner en valor el viñedo que la familia poseía en la localidad burgalesa de Sotillo de la Ribera, y lanzarse a la elaboración de sus propios vinos con una marca, iniciando así un negocio familiar que en estos 30 años ha tenido un recorrido lleno de reconocimientos.

 ValSotillo wines, from Bodegas Ismael Arroyo, in Sotillo de la Ribera (DO Ribera del Duero), took part last august in the Althoffs Festival der Meisterköche, an interesting gastronomic event which was hold in the Granhotel Scholss Bensberg, a luxurious palace situated near Colonia.

 More than 200 people attended the event organized last March in Burgos to do a homage to seven emblematic winemakers in Ribera del Duero: Ismael Arroyo, Pablo Peñalba, Alejandro Fernandez, Anastasio García and the brothers Perez Pascuas, in order to thank them their great contribution to establish the Apellation of Origin Ribera del Duero.

Some of the best wineries in
Spain took part some days ago in the Salon Enolia, a new wine fair in
Bilbao specially for wine professionals, which took place at the famous Guggenheim museum. Bodegas Ismael Arroyo was there with Valsotillo wines representing Ribera del Duero.
Despite de fact that the wines from Ribera del Duero are very well valued by wine amateurs in
Bilbao, this city has been a difficult market for the riberas, but Bodegas Ismael Arroyo hope that this situation will change in the future. |

About 60 owners of historical motorbikes from different Spanish regions visited Bodegas Ismael Arroyo to know all the wine process and how their wines age in perfect conditions in a subterranean cellar dated in the XVI century.
