The Vintage Club has organised an interesting tasting of Valsotillo Wines (roble, crianza and reserva) at Le Bouchon, a good restaurant in Mexico DF.

Members of The Vintage Club enjoyed a wonderful meal, in which  Ismael Arroyo’s wines  were served with different dishes, (salmon, duck, veal, venison), and plain chocolate.

A leading gourmet magazine in Germany, Der Feinschmecker, has reviewed some of the best reservas from 2004 and 2005 vintages in Ribera del Duero.

The tasting team has placed Valsotillo Reserva 2004 as a Top 3, describing it as a powerful and elegant wine, and highlight its mineral and leather flavours, and the ripe fruit  and floral hints. In a poetic sense, they describe the Valsotillo Reserva as “an elegant matador”.

Germany  is currently the main importer of Bodegas Ismael Arroyo wines. The winery has increased a 50% the sales there  in the last two years.

15 wines from Ribera del Duero have been selected to take part in one of the most important gastronomic events in Spain, Madrid Fusión. Around 50 international journalists, who work in emergent countries, will participate in this exclusive tasting, on January 27th.

ValSotillo Reserva 94 has been one of the 15 wines selected for this tasting, which has been organised by Wines from Spain and ICEX.

Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator select ValSotillo as a Top Ribera

ValSotillo Reserva 2004 is a Top wine from Ribera del Duero, according to Wine Enthusiast magazine. The October 2010 issue  offers a wide report about the Ribera del Duero region and some of the best wines made there.

Michael Schachner says that Ribera del Duero is a region on the rise and explains how it has improved in wineries, tourist services and quality of the wines.
