More than 200 people attended the event organized last March in Burgos to do a homage to seven emblematic winemakers in Ribera del Duero: Ismael Arroyo, Pablo Peñalba, Alejandro Fernandez, Anastasio García and the brothers Perez Pascuas, in order to thank them their great contribution to establish the Apellation of Origin Ribera del Duero.

Some of the best wineries in Spain took part some days ago in the Salon Enolia, a new wine fair in Bilbao specially for wine professionals, which took place at the famous Guggenheim museum. Bodegas Ismael Arroyo was there with Valsotillo wines representing Ribera del Duero.

Despite de fact that the wines from Ribera del Duero are very well valued by wine amateurs in Bilbao, this city has been a difficult market for the riberas, but Bodegas Ismael Arroyo hope that this situation will change in the future.

 

About 60 owners of historical motorbikes from different Spanish regions visited Bodegas Ismael Arroyo to know all the wine process and how their wines age in perfect conditions in a subterranean cellar dated in the XVI century.

A group of German journalists and sumilleres  visited last September Bodegas Ismael Arroyo and tasted all the winery’s vintages available at this moment in the market. One of the members of the group was Christina Fischer, the most popular sumiller in Germany, who organise tastings and other wine events and write wine books and reports. The rest of the journalists were Herbert Heil (Wiesbadener Kurier), Carolyn Maurer (Bonner Generalanzeiger), Bernd Matthies (Berlines Tagesspiegel), Michael Schröder (Mannheimer Morgen), and Jürgen Mathäb, who is an experienced wine critic specialized in Spanish and Ribera del Duero wines.
Germany is one of the main wine markets for Bodegas Ismael Arroyo. Last year their wines were selected for an important taste of historical wines.
