Arroyo & Arroyo: meeting in ValSotillo.

The Californian winemaker Vincent Arroyo, who runs a winery in Calistoga, visited recently (on Saturday 17th of July)  Bodegas Ismael Arroyo, a family winery in Ribera del Duero, (Spain).

It was an interesting meeting between two winemakers who share the same surname, Arroyo, because Vincent Arroyo’s granfather was born in Spain (Salamanca), and migrated to the States in 1914.

 We talked about our respective stiles of making wine, grape varieties, vines, family and  tradition, and we think that the expirience was really good. We thank them for coming here to visit us and we promised them to visit their cottage in Calistoga next year, if it is possible.
