ValSotillo CR 2011, at the ICC Starchefs New York

starchef_nueva_york.jpgValSotillo CR 2011 has been selected to take part in the International Chefs Congress (ICC) Starchefs, which started last Sunday in New York.

The International Chefs Congress turns 10 this year, and it gathers some of the industry's most formidable professionals to bring the future of food and drink. For three days, October 25 to 27, they'll explore the theme, Open Source Cooking: The New Era of Collaboration and Connectivity, through Main Stage Cooking Demonstrations, Hands-on Savory, Pastry, and Bartender Workshops, Wine Tasting Seminars, and Business Panels. In their tenth year, StarChefs welcomes Spain as ICC's featured country, and some of its most exciting chefs will be on the main stage.


The ICC Starchefs has 5 parts:

  1. Welcome Dinner Wine List, a three-day culinary symposium where the world’s most influential and innovative culinary experts present the latest techniques and concepts to top industry “tastemakers”. This opportunity allows to feature ValSotillo Crianza 2011 wines on the Welcome Dinner menu.
  2. Somm Slam: October 25th- 26th Two-day sommelier competition open to wine professionals including sommeliers and beverage directors from around the country. They will compete in the blind tasting competition to test their prowess and expertise.
  3. SommBar: October 25th- 27th: open during the duration of ICC featuring a variety of wine and spirits sponsors.
  4. RyR Chefs Congress Pouring Table. October 25th- 27th. Exclusive pouring table featuring a variety of Ribera wines that are tasted by the country's top chefs and wine industry professionals.
  5. RyR Wine Seminar featuring Geoff Kruth. October 27th. Exclusive seminar highlighting regions and wide breadth of wine labels available from Ribera. Hosted by Master Sommelier Geoff Kruth.
