ValSotillo GR 04 gets 92 fromWine Spectator

Wine Spectator magazine has included ValSotillo Gran Reserva 2004 in the Buying Guide on may 2012 issue. The executive editor, Thomas Matthews, who signs the taste comment, describes the wine as a “polished red that delivers plum, licorice, cocoa, and mineral notes on a sleek, firm frame”. Matthews also says that ValSotillo GR 2004 is a maturing but still energetic wine, which shows elegance and can be drunk from now to 2018.

The taster gives 92 points to this wine.

100% Tempranillo, has been aged in an underground cellar (S.XVI) at a constant temperature (11-12ºC). The grapes come from old vineyards that grow over South-faced slopes in Sotillo de la Ribera.

Bodegas Ismael Arroyo has always defended the high value of Gran Reserva wines, because of their elegance, complexity and maturity.
