Valsotillo VS Reserva 2004

VINTAGE
Wet and rainy winter, not too cold. A stormy weather at the begining of the summer, but very dry the rest of it. Good weather during harvest, which started the 29th of September. Grapes picked by hand.


INFORMATION
Grapes: 100% Tempranillo
Vines situated in south-facing slopes. The soil is made up of sand, limestone and clay. All are low bush vines.
Alcoholic and Malolactic fermentation controlled in stainlees steel vats.

This wine has been ageing during 24 months in american oak barrils in an underground cellar built in the XVI Century. Inside the caves the temperature is always around  12ºC.
After being bottled, the wine is kept again inside the underground cellar until it is delivered.
9.400 bottles (750ml) and 495 bottles Magnum (1,5 l.)
Vintage 2004: Excellent.


TASTING
An attractive dark and deep cherry colour. There are beautiful wild red berry fruit  aromas, with mineral and spicy hints. Very complex and rich.
On the palate, very round, fleshy, with a good balance and a lingering finish. A great wine to lay down.
