Bodegas Ismael Arroyo-ValSotillo owe 25 hectares of vineyards spread in 12 different plots all around the winery in Sotillo de la Ribera, and we also buy grapes to different grape growers from the village.
Their vines are 60, 80 and even 90 years old, so they are excellent to get grapes of a high quality to make Reserva and Gran Reserva.
All our vines are low bush and located over south-facing slopes.
We have a single variety vineyard, it is all Tempranillo (Tinta del País).
We pick the grapes by hand and never spray chemicals or weedkillers, so we make the alcoholic fermentation with the natural yeasts that are in the skins. We don’t add any yeasts.

Harvest time can be the last week of September or the first 2 weeks of October. We limit the yield so the grapes arrive to the winery in perfect conditions.
